Loring Park Information Kiosks

Information collected from four public and private agencies was assembled in a dynamic and engaging way, in order to appeal to the city’s vistors. Custom photos were taken in the neighborhood to highlight nearby Loring Park and remind visitors in winter that Minneapolis isn’t always cold. The playfulness of large scale images draw the attention and invite the viewer to look closer. Once in range, the viewer is rewarded with a wealth of information on vicinity dining, entertainment and shopping oportunities.

The city required that the signs be backlit only at night. This presented a design challenge as the material and colors had to be balanced so the experience for the viewer would be dynamic both in the day and at night.

Graphic panel design by Tim Heitman while employed by The Leonard Parker Associates. Kiosk design by others.
