Commemorative Program
University of Minnesota Department of Theater Arts and Dance
To commemorate the long history of the Theater Department’s floating theater space after the original Showboat was destroyed in a fire, and the inaugural season aboard it’s newly completed replacement vessel, a special edition catalog of the theater’s 44 year history was produced. Archival photographs and information was assembled in a high quality program offered for sale at the opening of the new Showboat.
Graphic ornaments found throughout the program were drawn from a wrought iron balcony rail recovered from the original boat after it was destroyed by fire.
