Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension

Saint Paul, Minnesota

A new headquarters of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension opened in 2003 designed by Leonard Parker and Associates. Visitors to the building’s main public entry are welcomed by a grand terrazzo floor emblem, 11 feet in diameter. The design for the emblem was extrapolated from the only available source graphic, a patch from the official BCA uniform. Care was taken to faithfully represent the various functions of the Bureau and render the emblem accurately in stone.

Terrazzo design by Tim Heitman while employed by The Leonard Parker Associates.
